We love an even-keeled life....a few moments of excitement here and there keep it interested.  But we just can't wait to calm down--get back to normal. Today's Gospel points us to the farewell scene of Jesus with his closest disciples.  There's a sense that they still don't get it.  So, Jesus begins to make it clear that the mission is being left in our hands--the mission is now entrusted to us.  And there is no other plan for reaching the world with the love of Christ.  And Jesus promises us power from on high--his Holy Spirit--to provide the power for us to do so. Will we not only gather, but just as poignantly, scatter with this Good News of Jesus?
